Walk like an Egyptian at Leicester New Walk Museum – Tuesday 17th November 2015

Today Form 3 paid a visit to the Ancient Egypt Exhibition at Leicester New Walk Museum.  The children had a wonderful time and took part in several activities such as making an amulet and a good luck charm out of clay, dressing up as an Ancient Egyptian, practising the ancient art of bow sawing and putting the correct body part in the right canopic jar. They were able to handle real Ancient Egyptian artefacts. The photo is of Form 3 sitting together in the museum and one of the children is holding the oldest artefact in the collection, a bowl made by a small child.  It is over 4,500 years old! Be careful, don’t drop it!
