U9 Rugby v Wellow House (H) – Monday 28th September 2015

On a glorious sunny day, Highfields welcomed Wellow for a combination of touch and tackle rugby matches.   Highfields had a great turnout of 8 Form 4 players and 6 from Form 3.

The first touch rugby match was hotly contested with years 3 & 4 mixed on a rolling sub basis, this resulted in a hard fought 3-3 draw, with three great tries from Harry.  Special mention to the Form 3’s who were playing in their first competitive match for the school.

The second match was a hold tackle match (much to the disappointment of the Form 4’s, who were ready for full tackle).  This was again hotly contested until an unstoppable run from Spencer resulted in the first try for Highfields, which was shortly answered by a response from Wellow.  Highfields’ Luke and Milo went close until two fast paced tries from Hector gave some breathing space for Highfields;  again Wellow responded with a try, until a great run from Jenson put the game beyond doubt.  Highfields won 4-2 in what was a thrilling game of rugby.

Well done to all the players and a special mention to the Form 3’s in their debut school match.
