The final Friday of this half term saw pupils make the trip over to Wollaton Park for the annual Nottingham Inter-Schools Cross Country meet. Nineteen schools from across the country took part with 450+ runners, ensuring competition was stiff.
The gruelling start sees competitors make the lung bursting climb uphill toward the iconic manor house, before swinging left to pick up the woodland trail and then making the final turn back across the fields to home and the finish line. The Highfields teams all settled quickly into their running and embraced the chilling wind and challenging course; however it was the U9 Girls who stole the show, placing an outstanding 3rd in the overall team competition with final positions of:
Martha 7th, Emily 16th, Rebecca 20th, Beatrix 24th, Jemima 38th, Jessica 39th.
Well done girls and great effort by all!
