With the return of the spring sunshine, Wednesday saw the visit of Farndon in the Newark Schools Football fixtures. Highfields started brightly, putting the Farndon goalkeeper to work. However, it was more luck than skill, that broke the deadlock, as a corner whipped in by Otis, struck a Farndon defender and flew into his own net. Further Highfields pressure quickly resulted in a second goal, with Max producing a towering backpost header from another Otis corner. The third arrived shortly before half time, with Otis releasing Joe who calmly finished past the on rushing keeper. The second half continued in the same vein with more Highfields dominance, as Henry fired in a wicked cross that found its way into the bottom corner. The scoring was rounded of by Max who finished neatly inside the penalty area. Final Score: Highfields 5 – 0 Farndon. Motm – Otis.
