Arachnid alert! Zoolab are here – Thursday 19th January 2017

It helps at Highfields if you’re not afraid of creepy crawlies.  As part of this term’s “Deadly 60” theme, we are being visited byexpert animal handlers Zoolab today.  Their rangers have brought a selection of arachnids and other venomous creatures along for the children to meet, including: a Giant African millipede called Max; an Emperor Scorpion called Steve; his friend the Chilean Rose Tarantula, Tracey; and the Cane Toad called Tod.  Sophie the Corn Snake, who is not native to this country, has been gliding across the hall floor much to the children’s delight.  Rosie and Rita the colourful rats are coming out to play shortly.  The whole school is enjoying Zoolab’s visit today – here’s our gallery of pictures…
