As a non-selective school we are extremely proud of our academic results. In our most recent ISI inspection in June 2019, the inspectors concluded that “Academic achievement is excellent”. In particular the inspection found –
- “Pupils’ attitude to learning is exceptional”; and
- “Personal development is excellent”

Preparation for the next step
We include 11+ preparation within the weekly curriculum in years 3 to 5 for those children seeking admission to the grammar schools in Lincolnshire. For those wishing to remain in independent education we offer full support for common entrance.
Over the past 9 years we have been delighted to prepare our pupils for the following senior schools, both independent and grammar.

Many leavers secured offers (and scholarships) from more than one senior school. All leavers in the last 9 years obtained a place at their first choice of senior school.
Under the national curriculum we used to publish our SATs results, unlike many other independent schools, and we are very proud of these results. Based on these, for a number of years we received national recognition as a “Sunday Times Top 100 Independent Primary School”. One of our last SATs results can be viewed below
We now follow Cambridge Curriculum for maths, English and science so pupils in Forms 2 and 6 are no longer assessed this way.

Beyond academic excellence
It’s not just academic achievement which is celebrated at Highfields. Many if not all of our pupils take advantage of our excellent music tuition with most sitting ABRSM examinations. Speech and Drama lessons are also very popular and we have recently enjoyed an outstanding set of results in LAMDA examinations for prose and verse (Summer 2018).
In the last set of ABRSM exams we had some super results.
- Form 6 leavers:
Grade 1 Theory – three distinctions and one pass
- Current Forms 5 and 6:
Grade 1 Flute and Grade 1 Piano – two distinctions
LAMDA students enjoyed similar success last summer.
- Verse and Prose: Solo – 6 pass with merit, 2 pass with distinction.
- Acting: Solo grade 1 – 1 pass; Solo grade 2 – 1 pass with merit, 1 pass with distinction; Acting Grade 1 combined – 8 pass with merit, 2 pass with distinction.
We use School Ping for routine correspondence. In a recent survey for feedback from parents about their child’s experience (September 2018) we received the following comments which we are proud to share:
