Members of this year’s School Council gathered under the shade of a tree on the hottest day of the year, to enjoy a little thank you tea party. Miss Wilson thanked all of the representatives profusely for all of their hard work throughout this year and for all of the positive changes that have been made in school, as a result of the children’s views, ideas and suggestions.
Thank you to the efforts of the School Council:
All of the merit cup winners now earn a counter for their House to go into the tube each week Our film nights are now themed Infants may attend choir A wider selection of yogurt flavours have been introduced at lunchtimes Watermelon is available for pudding Candy floss is now sold at many FFH events The FFH kindly purchased a giant chess set for the playground
Plus many more!
The School Council would like to thank Mr Lewis and Miss Crocker for their help and support this year. We would also like to thank both Mr Ling and the FFH for being particularly receptive to the children’s ideas and suggestions.
The children all talked positively about their time as a representative and have enjoyed the experience and opportunity. They liked attending the meetings and having their views heard and either further explained, or actioned by the Head teacher. Some children said that being on the School Council made them feel special, proud and important to be voted into such a responsible and fundamental role. However, the highlight for all of the children was the opportunity to interview the prospective candidates for the roles of Cook and Head teacher!
Well done and thank you School Council – you should feel very proud of yourselves!
