Newark schools football league

The U11 Football team have had a busy week playing no less than 3 games, as we attempt to catch up on our fixtures following the spell of bad weather. On Wednesday, the team headed over to William Gladstone for a league double header. First up, we lined up against the home side, William Gladstone. Despite a promising start, we failed to capitalize on our good play, and two sucker punch goals from the opposition took the game away. Final score 0 – 3.

After a quick breather, the team were back in action facing league leaders, Holy Trinity.  Unfortunately the efforts and intensity levels could not match that of the first game, as Holy Trinity proved too good on the day, showing just why they are top of the table. Final score 0 – 5.

Thursday saw us on the road again over to Bishop Alexander. Despite a fantastic display from the whole squad and a brilliant volley from Jenson, the side fell to a 1 – 3 defeat. However, the team can be proud of their performance and effort… we hope for a change of luck next week!
