The U11 Girls’ football team made the short journey to Newark Flowserve for the Newark Schools Football Tournament. Despite a few pre-match nerves, the girls quickly found their feet, defeating Chuter Ede 2-0, with quickfire goals from Martha and Scarlett. Next up were Barnby Road, which saw both defences come out on top, 0-0. Farndon and William Gladstone were brushed aside 2-0 and 1-0 respectively, Martha, Scarlett and Ellie finding the net. A narrow 0-1 loss followed against eventual group winners, Lowes Wong. The girls finished with a dominant 0-0 against a good Sir Donald Bailey side. All of which meant we just missed qualification into the semi finals by one point. A great afternoon’s work, the girls played some fine football and did themselves proud.
