Day 4 in the camp.
Today was spent exploring the delights of Whitby. We began with a visit to Whitby museum where we learned about James Bartley, the only man to be swallowed by a whale and live to tell the tale and how truant school children were bound in shackles.
We stopped for chips on the beach, fighting off the local seagulls, a paddle in the sea and staff verses children rounders (the children were trounced by the teachers!).
After a brief visit to the sweet shop, we climbed the 199 steps up to the Abbey where we produced pencil sketches of the magnificent remains.
