Christmas Carol Service at Barnbygate Methodist Church – Tuesday 16th December 2014

A Celebration of Christmas was the title of this year’s carol service at Barnbygate Methodist Church on the evening of Tuesday 16th December.  Led by our Head of Music Ms Rowan Cozens and her team of musicians, the children performed a variety of carols and poetry with a number of soloists taking part for the first time.  There were performances by wind, saxophone and string ensembles, band, the whole school, choir, Infants and individual year groups.  Congregational carols included for the first time a performance by the staff singing “O Little Town”.  Opening welcome and closing prayers were offered by the Rev Philip Macdonald.

All agreed this was a stunning showcase of the musical talent we have within School.  Special thanks to our music staff including:

  • Jim Stretton – brass
  • Lisa Wright – woodwind and harp
  • Laura Gardiner – violin
  • Tom Dempsey – percussion
  • Carol Needham – piano

Well done Ms Cozens!
