As part of British Science Week all children in Prep-Prep and Prep are carrying out a STEM experiment this week. Form 1’s experiment was based on the book ‘Matilda’ by Roald Dahl, in particular the part where she puts a newt in the Headteacher’s water. Matilda got the water to rise up. Form 1 cut out tissue paper newts, then rubbed balloons to make static electricity and then got the newts to rise up. They also tried this with a feather which worked really well. Our budding scientists had an exciting time learning a little about static electricity – as you can see from the pictures below!
