Beyond the Classroom
Enriching our curriculum gives all pupils the opportunity enjoy a wide variety of new experiences. We have activity days, outside visitors, specialist workshops and some very popular residential trips to PGL locally and to Yorkshire which give the children a wholly different perspective on learning and school life. Activities are planned to challenge and inspire our pupils whilst contextualising and immersing them in their learning.
The benefits of the Highfields location
We are fortunate in that our extensive outdoor environment allows us the unique opportunity to frequently take learning outside the classroom; our grounds are widely utilised through a range of curricular and extra-curricular activities allowing the children’s curiosity to flourish.
If we can take our learning into the natural world we do, and we strongly believe that learning should be fun – there is no learning without laughter!
Extra-curriculur activities at Highfields
We want the children to be able to be independent thinkers, stand out from the crowd but also to have fun and relax. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are provided to enrich the children’s experiences, build their confidence and skills, and maintain their wellbeing.
The children are encouraged to pursue their interests by participating in a variety of clubs and activities at lunchtime (12.30 – 1.30pm) and after school (3.45 – 4.45pm).
