Frozen solid

This week we made a frozen snowman as part of our science lessons. The children had fun deciding which type of paper/card to use for his buttons and nose (what wouldn’t become soaked easily – the stronger card). They also enjoyed predicting how much he would melt through the day. They measured in centimetres the amount of melted ice at the bottom of the bowl containing the snowman. The measurements were made at different times throughout the day.  We think they will remember that materials change – from solid to liquid. (We haven’t done the bit where it changes to a gas though!)
