A Celebration of Christmas – Carol Concert at Barnbygate Methodist Church

On Monday evening we lit up Barnbygate Methodist Church with music and song for our Carol Concert.  It was truly a Celebration of Christmas, opened by Form 4 playing Christmas bells and chimes, piano solos from Lauren and Holly and a special welcome from our head Boy and Head Girl, Luke and Eva.  For our congregational carols we sang some favourites, Away in a Manger and O Come All Ye Faithful.  Musical ensembles included string group who played traditional French and Polish pieces, and Band who produced a rousing trumpet solo with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Little Donkey on trombones.  The whole school sang as well as choir, advanced choir and Pre-Prep.  Our readings and prayers were led by Form 6. The retiring collection was for Home Start, Newark.

The concert was a wonderful way to bring us to the end of another term at Highfields. Thanks to our Head of Music, Ms Cozens, and her dedicated team for supporting our budding musicians and helping to put together a magical evening.  Happy Christmas to all.
